A good four years down the line Broken Mind opens the second chapter of its account of the Wasteland. Nine tracks around the 5-minute-mark take you on a ride through the barren landscapes of urban outskirts and industrial estates: Thick and impermeable clouds of dark ambience, devoid of rhythm, melody – or of light – embrace the listener, like a soundtrack of descent, into concrete bunkers infested with a mouldy stench.
The all-encompassing sinister flow is then diverted through sick rhythms by two remixes from Wasteland I: A slow, pounding metallic kick is added by Panic Scenery, and Broken Mind alter ego Paranoid Movement brings in irregular halfstep bass throbs, only adding to the netherworldly atmosphere of this remarkably concise album.
